Introduction to Coopering
Bucket Class
In our Intro to Coopering class, students will utilize hand and power tools to learn the fundamentals of the ancient craft of tight coopering.
During this 2 day class, students will be provided the tools, building materials and typed class overview/instruction while they hand make their own bucket to bring home. Class includes; History of Coopering, Practical demonstrations along with instructors to guide students through the process of roughing out bucket staves, shaping and jointing staves, hollowing and backing staves, crafting steel hoops, cutting and measuring a croze, building and inserting the head, and attaching rope (bucket) or shaping a handle for a piggen (buckets made with one stave left extra long as a single handle-predominantly intended for scooping)

The Intro to Coopering-Bucket Class is a pre-requisite to all advanced coopering classes (tankards, barrels). Additional classes to be announced.

The $400 tuition fee includes 2 day in-person class and all required class materials to construct a bucket.
